Seven National events, a four-race points format, and a mandatory appearance at Indianapolis Motor Speedway highlight the 2027 championship structure.

The NASCAR Youth Series Presented by Cook Out has announced its updated National Pavement Points Structure for the 2027 season, introducing a championship format designed to provide competitors with greater flexibility while maintaining the importance of the series' premier national events.

The 2027 National Pavement schedule will feature seven events across the country, divided into three tiers. Drivers competing for a National Championship will be required to participate in a minimum of four events, including the Battle at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Under the updated format, competitors will have the opportunity to participate in additional National events while counting only their best four eligible results toward the final championship standings.

The seven scheduled events and their respective tiers are:

  • Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Parking Lot - Las Vegas, NV)– March 19–21 (Tier 2)

  • I-70 (Club - Greenville, IL) – May 7–9 (Tier 3)

  • Good Times (Club - Madera, CA) – Madera – June 4–5 (Tier 3)

  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Parking Lot - Speedway, IN) – June 29–July 3 (Tier 1)

  • Oaklane (Club - Quakertown, PA) – August 6–8 (Tier 3)

  • Richmond – September 9–11 (Tier 2)

  • Charlotte – October 15–17 (Tier 3)

The 2027 championship format will combine Tier 1 and Tier 2 events into one points category, while Tier 3 events will make up a second category.

To qualify for the final National Points standings, drivers must meet the following requirements:

Tier 1 and Tier 2 Events

Drivers must compete in the Battle at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to remain eligible for a National Championship. However, their Indianapolis result is not required to count toward their final points total.

Of the three Tier 1 and Tier 2 events — Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Richmond — a driver's best two results will count toward the championship.

Tier 3 Events

Drivers must compete in at least two of the four Tier 3 events: I-70, Good Times – Madera, Oaklane, and Charlotte. Competitors may participate in all four events, but only their best two results will count toward their National Points total.

Four Races Determine the Championship

A driver's final National Points total will be calculated using four results: their best two from the combined Tier 1 and Tier 2 category and their best two from Tier 3.

There is no limit to the number of National events a driver may enter, allowing families to compete at additional events without negatively affecting their championship standings.

In the event of a tie in the final National Championship standings, the tiebreaker will be determined by each driver's finishing position at the Tier 1 Battle at the Brickyard event in their respective class.

The NASCAR Youth Series has also established specific rainout procedures to address weather-related cancellations during the 2027 season.

For these procedures, a class will be considered rained out if its A-Main has not reached at least the halfway point.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Tier 1)

If a class is rained out at Indianapolis, no championship points will be awarded for that class. However, participation will still satisfy the mandatory Indianapolis eligibility requirement.

Las Vegas (Tier 2)

If a class is rained out at Las Vegas, affected competitors must compete at either Richmond (Tier 2) or Good Times – Madera (Tier 3) to fulfill the applicable points requirement.

If Good Times – Madera is used as the replacement event, that result will count twice: once toward the driver's Tier 3 points and once as the replacement for Las Vegas.

Richmond (Tier 2)

If a class is rained out at Richmond, eligibility credit will be awarded, but no championship points will be issued for that event.

Drivers in affected classes may use Charlotte (Tier 3) as a replacement event. In that situation, the Charlotte result will count both toward the driver's Tier 3 points and as the replacement for Richmond. This replacement option applies only to classes that were rained out at Richmond.

Tier 3 Events

If a Tier 3 event is rained out, drivers must compete in another Tier 3 event to earn the necessary championship points. No eligibility credit will be awarded for the rained-out event alone.

For National events hosted at local quarter midget facilities, the host track will close at midnight local time on the Sunday preceding the event.

The NASCAR Youth Series looks forward to another exciting season of National competition in 2027 as drivers from across the country compete for the opportunity to be crowned a NASCAR Youth Series National Champion.
